I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the need to extend the slurry spreading period until the end of the year, as has been done in the Six Counties by the agriculture Minister, Michelle Gildernew, due to the extreme bad weather conditions that have prevented farmers doing so within the normal time and noting that the Minister has already recognised the difficulties that have been caused when he earlier granted an extension to the original deadline.
