Question 56: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he agrees with the statement by the Director of Public Prosecutions that a constitutional referendum should be held to reinstate the offence of statutory rape, which statement was originally made by him to the Joint Committee on Child Protection in 2006 and repeated by him on 27 June 2008 in a speech at UCC; and if the Government is committed to the holding of such a referendum.
