I wish to seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the phenomenal rise in fuel prices which now add up to 10% of a person's weekly income, an increase of 70% on 16 years ago; the fact that the Government did not raise the fuel allowance in the last budget, which means that those who failed to meet the price of fuel before the latest increases are suffering hugely; and the need for the Government to immediately help those living with fuel poverty through an increased fuel allowance. I raise this matter in a timely fashion.
