Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 32

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 on a matter of extreme importance, namely, the proposed closure of the Civil Service crèche in Ennis, County Clare and the manner in which the closure was communicated to the parents and staff. Two weeks notice is not good enough for the parents of the 47 children in which to find alternative child care. Neither is this adequate notice for the 16 skilled staff who are faced with unemployment, many without a redundancy programme. The Minister for Finance must review his decision and permit the temporary operator to remain in place in October, when a permanent operator can be appointed.
