Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 32
10:30 am
Aengus Ó Snodaigh (Dublin South Central, Sinn Fein)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the seizure of heroin worth €250,000 in Walkinstown, which while welcome is also another reminder that the heroin crisis continues; the further examples of drug-related crime including a pipe-bomb in Crumlin and a drive-by shooting in Limerick all of which took place in the past 24 hours; the need for the Government to acknowledge and fully recognise its failure to resource and implement the national drugs strategy which is now in its final months as a starting point for future progress and to encourage communities, those involved in frontline service delivery and all those affected by drugaddiction to participate in the upcoming public consultation meetings on a future drugsstrategy.
