I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the dangerous lack of powers given to prison officers to catch and detain visitors caught bringing drugs into prisons, leading to a lack of prosecutions and to criminals being allowed walk out of prisons; and the failure of the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform to legislate for these powers for prison officers.
