I wish to seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national and local importance, namely, that 130 people are losing their jobs at Grove Turkeys, Smithboro, County Monaghan, together with approximately 75 job losses at Kingspan, Kingscourt, County Cavan, and hundreds of others in smaller numbers from different industries in the Border region. There is an urgent need for Government action to stop the drift and it is vital that there be a full debate in this House regarding the indirect charges and costs that many of these units are being asked to bear, thus leading to lack of competitiveness. While I was glad to hear the small discussion on this topic some time ago, there were certainly no answers.
