I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to discuss a matter of urgent importance, namely, the impact on private sector public transport providers, especially those providing school transport services after the withdrawal without notice of the fuel excise duty rebate linked to the energy tax directive 2004; it is making business uneconomical for providers of school transport; private contracts for school transport services were tendered for on the basis of a rebate and if the fuel rebate is withdrawn operators will be unable to provide services in the absence of this rebate.
