Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 32
10:30 am
Arthur Morgan (Louth, Sinn Fein)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil to discuss the following matter of urgent public concern: the need for the Minister for Health and Children to explain to the House why she is allowing a brand new CT scanner at Louth County Hospital, Dundalk, County Louth, to remain shut down while patients are ferried to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda at great inconvenience, suffering and cost to patients and taxpayers, to outline when staffing will be provided to operate the scanner which she opened just days before the general election but which has remained shut since, except for a few days of use, and the need for urgent action to deal with the crisis at Louth County Hospital where two modular theatres lie idle, kitchens require upgrading and acute medical services are to be transferred out of the hospital next year, leaving people with grossly inadequate emergency cover. I hope the matters can be debated and resolved.
