I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the report published today by Sustainable Energy Ireland which indicates that our CO2 emissions are once again rising faster than our energy use; and the prediction that energy use in Ireland will increase in the next 14 years by 30% at a time when we are making international commitments for a 35% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions over the same period.
