Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31
Joe Costello (Dublin Central, Labour)
In accordance with the terms of Standing Order 31, I seek the adjournment of the Dáil to discuss the following specific and important matter of public interest requiring urgent attention, namely, the need for Ireland to sign and ratify the 2000 United Nations protocol on trafficking and the 2005 Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings as trafficking in people is now a global industry and Ireland is a target destination for trafficking gangs.
