Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31

11:00 am

Jerry Cowley (Mayo, Independent)

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, that the national development plan is ending next month while there is an underspend of €3.5 billion for the BMW area and while there is an underspend of €500 million on our roads, which has left us lagging behind compared to the rest of the country, making us an uncompetitive area for industry, and to debate whether we have any hope of receiving fair play in the upcoming development plan, considering the desperate state of roads such as the N26, N5 and R312 due to the lack of balanced regional development.
