Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31

10:30 am

Paudge Connolly (Cavan-Monaghan, Independent)

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss the following matter of urgent public and national concern, namely, the urgent necessity for significantly increased funding for the primary education sector to help meet the spiralling cost increases in electricity, heating, water supply and waste charges; the need for additional resources to reduce class sizes which remain unacceptably high; the requirement for classroom assistants for every infant class in primary school; the establishment of a system of State-funded early education for children with intellectual disabilities and the urgency of providing significant capital investment in the form of capitation grants to schools for the purchase of modern ICT equipment.
