I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, that on World Mental Health Day, Dáil Éireann would discuss the relative reduction in contribution to the psychiatric services from 11% in 1997 to 7% in 2006 and the urgent need to develop the services to a level where those suffering from a mental health problem have a service of best world practice.
