I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the need for the Government to commit to providing at least €1 billion in additional targeted funding in education in 2006, which will do much to provide a decent future for young people and their families, will provide new opportunities for those who missed out on education and will also save the State and ultimately the taxpayer from much harsher financial penalties down the line.
