I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to debate the following urgent matter: the plight of 41 asylum seekers from Afghanistan who are on hunger strike in St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, many of whose applications for refugee status have been turned down by the Refugee Appeals Tribunal; the veil of secrecy under which the tribunal operates; and the lack of transparency surrounding the decision-making process.
