Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.

10:30 am

Paudge Connolly (Cavan-Monaghan, Independent)

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the exclusion from 5% or 10% top-up grants under the farm waste management scheme of young farmers under the age of 35 whose holdings are in disadvantaged areas, who first registered as herd owners more than five years ago and who have all the necessary requirements to qualify for the additional aid; and call on the Government to seek an amendment to the scheme at EU level to enable young farmers to receive the top-up grant necessary for their holdings' viability.
