Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.

10:30 am

Jerry Cowley (Mayo, Independent)

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss a matter of major national importance, namely, the need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children, Deputy Harney, to reconsider her stance on the provision of free health care to an estimated 100 women who are desperately ill with hepatitis C but who have not tested positive. They have every other manifestation of hepatitis C, they received a positive diagnosis of the disease from their consultant hepatologist and desperately need help. I urge the Tánaiste to intervene.
