I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the annual report of the National Parasuicide Registry outlining that 11,000 people presented at hospital accident and emergency units in 2004 due to deliberate self-harm, almost half of whom were under 30 years of age, the peak age for women being 15 to 19 years of age and for men between 20 and 24 years of age.
