Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
4:00 pm
Séamus Healy (Tipperary South, Independent)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to remove the capping on community employment schemes. This capping involves the sacking of community employment supervisors and participants, destroying the schemes and depriving local communities in towns and villages of excellent work and services. These schemes are being deliberately destroyed and I ask the Minister to make a statement on the matter.
