Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
11:00 am
Jerry Cowley (Mayo, Independent)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the reason the Garda policing of a peaceful protest by law abiding citizens in County Mayo against the Corrib gas pipeline project has cost the State nearly €1 million already in Garda bills and the fact that this expenditure is urgently needed elsewhere to deal with crime instead of spending such a disgraceful sum on what amounts to a peaceful protest in Mayo.
