Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
12:00 pm
Paul Gogarty (Dublin Mid West, Green Party)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to debate a matter of national importance, namely, the increasing levels of obesity among our young people and the barriers to tackling them, including the successful marketing schemes run in schools by companies peddling unhealthy addictive foods due to a shortage of resources in our education system and the additional lack of investment in safe routes to school by this Government, which is perpetuating the problem and will ultimately and unnecessarily cost our health service hundreds of millions of euro.
