I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the refusal of Teagasc to consider the tender bid of the Breffni development group of Ballinamore, County Leitrim for its local farm and offices which conflicted with the assurance of the Minister for Agriculture and Food that any such bid would be seriously considered; as the bid was only €15,000 less than the accepted offer, the conduct of Teagasc raises serious questions about the bidding process, the way in which it has ignored the Government's policy towards the voluntary community sector, and the interests of the community of Ballinamore which will not be served by selling the farm to forestry interests.
