I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of urgent national importance, namely, in light of the confirmation of avian flu within the borders of the European Union, there is a need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to outline the steps she is taking to protect Irish poultry flocks and those being taken by the Government to stop the entry of the disease into this country.
