Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
4:00 pm
Denis Naughten (Longford-Roscommon, Fine Gael)
It is lucky someone is here.
I seek leave to move a motion for the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss the following matter of public concern: the need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food immediately to ban the importation of beef following the confirmation of foot and mouth disease within the Brazilian herd; if she will ensure that such a ban is implemented throughout the EU to protect public health; and if she will outline the steps she is taking to ensure Ireland introduces a clear and transparent food labelling regime.
