I wish to move the adjournment of the Dáil to discuss the following specific and important matter of public interest requiring urgent attention, namely, the serious implications for labour relations and the future of social partnership as well as the future of the maritime sector of the plan by Irish Ferries to seek the redundancy of 543 Irish staff with a view to replacing them with lower paid workers from abroad; and the need for the Government to intervene.
