I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss the following matter of urgent national importance, namely, the fact that a large construction company, Glenman Corporation, which has Government contracts to build council houses in Ballymun, Fortunestown B and other places, has failed to meet its payment obligations to more than a dozen other companies which have subcontracted work, including one company, KBD civil engineering, which is owed €374,000, and another company owed €254,000, and this is resulting in a significant threat of job losses and companies going to the wall — and the associated tensions created by such non-payment of Bills — and the need for the Government to make transparent, accountable and fair its procurement procedures in light of such evidence.
