I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of urgent importance, namely the fact the south-east region has consistently lagged behind, and continues to do so, in regard to investment and job creation with the result that Carrick-on-Suir has over 20% unemployment, to allow the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement on the matter and to further allow the Minister to confirm that he will agree to meet a deputation from Carrick-on-Suir on this issue, which he has refused to meet up to now.
