I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss the following urgent matter of national importance: the continuing deterioration in our public hospital services, including the ongoing crisis in accident and emergency units, the shortage of acute hospital beds and the shortage of nursing staff, as highlighted by the series of protest actions at hospitals throughout the State, beginning today and organised by the Irish Nurses Organisation.
