I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss an important matter of public interest that requires urgent consideration, namely, the critical failure of the State to ensure the provision of an adequate child care infrastructure, the resultant exclusion of a large proportion of women from the workforce and the report of the forum on the workplace of the future, which stated that the cost of child care in the State is the highest in the EU.
