I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss a matter of national importance, namely, the findings and recommendations of the first known study of family budget research for those families dependent on social welfare payments as issued by the Vincentian Partnership for Social Justice, a study that reveals such payments bring about a weekly shortfall in meeting the basic needs of such families to the extent of between €6 and €24.
