I seek leave to move a motion for the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss the following matter of urgent public concern, namely, the cancellation of elective surgery at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda in the past week; the unacceptable situation whereby the same hospital was on the verge of having to go off call due to a shortage of resources; the urgent necessity for the Minister for Health and Children to ensure that no hospital is forced to go off call as a result of a lack of resources and for the reform of the health services to be underpinned by the goal of creating an accessible and equitable health service.
