I will again echo the conversations I am having in my constituency of Carlow-Kilkenny, which are very much that respite is the single most important issue for people. Funding is great and the increase in the number of carers is all fine but what cares really want are those respite hours and that break or light at the end of the tunnel to give them some hope after what can be very challenging weeks.
Will the Minister talk to us briefly about extra staff overall in the HSE for disability? How many were recruited this year? How many more staff are we looking at for next year? The Minister mentioned that a report will come out tomorrow on the long-term plan. Will she briefly outline that for us?
