All of the witnesses have succinctly outlined the regulatory gaps in this space and, equally, some of the good regulation that has been put in place in these areas and how it is going to be enforced.

Do they have any sense of how the companies themselves are grappling with these biases that are being identified and are emerging? It is not in their interest that there be biases. Presumably they want to prevent these. They are looking for the most perfect AI system they can possibly produce, we presume. Do the witnesses have any sense of how they are dealing with this? Is it a case of better engagement in how they are inputting data or how their machines are learning, to put it in really simple terms? What is their sense of that?
