I will fly through this. I am under a bit of pressure for time. I propose that the petitions considered by the committee at this meeting and previous meetings be published and that the replies from the Department and other bodies may also be published. Is that agreed? Agreed.

We have five petitions to consider. P00002/25 proposes that we would publish the response received from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage and that the correspondence from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage would be forwarded to the petitioner for comment within 14 days. Is that agreed? Agreed.

P00003/25 relates to changes to citizenship legislation. The proposal is that the correspondence from the petitioner be forwarded to the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration for comment within 14 days. Is that agreed? Agreed.

P00005/25 is on travel grievances for short stays and tourism purposes within the CTA. The proposal is that the correspondence from the petitioner, including all of the attachments, be forwarded to the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration for comment within 14 days. Is that agreed? Agreed.

The proposal in respect of P00015/25 is that the correspondence from the petitioner containing the proposed amendment to the legislation be forwarded to the Department of Social Protection. That is a very good move. It is one that we discussed at the committee. Is that agreed? Agreed.

P00016/25 is one Deputy Buckley and others have been pursuing for a long time. The proposal is that the correspondence from the former Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works be forwarded to the petitioner for comment within 14 days, and that we would move towards having a hearing on the matter as soon as possible. Is that agreed? Agreed.

That concludes our consideration of public petitions for this afternoon. I invite members of the public to submit petitions via our online portal, which is available at petitions.oireachtas.ie. A petition may be addressed to the Houses of the Oireachtas on a matter of general public concern or interest or an issue of public policy.

There being no other business, the committee is adjourned until 14 October 2025 at 11 a.m., when we will meet in both private and public session. Go raibh míle maith agaibh.
