I am new to this job. I wish I were speaking to the committee under different circumstances. Failings have been identified. We apologise for those failings and repeat that our primary focus in CHI is, at all times, to deliver timely access to quality, safe care to children and young people. It is a time of reset for us. We are entrusted with the most precious lives, namely those of children and young people across Ireland. My colleagues and I accept and carry this responsibility with us every day.
