I am sorry; can I stop Professor Smeaton there? It is great that he brought us into the area of open source because that is an area about which I am kind of excited.

Call me cynical, but I have concerns about big tech. What I mean by "big tech" is Alphabet, Meta, TikTok, Amazon and so on. I have concerns about their open source approach. I would love to know how innovation is being supported at a public level for the development of transparent open source and publicly owned tools. Is that something Professor Smeaton can enlighten me on?
