I will come in on the legislation because it is also important how An Garda Síochána addresses this issue, and how people who experience hate online are empowered to report harassment and threats. Just because it happens online does not mean it cannot be reported. There is a body of work that needs to be done there to support people who are affected by threats and harassment online so there is greater understanding of their rights. There is a lack of understanding that there are some laws in place to support them. Gardaí also need to upskill in that area because there is an inconsistency across the country in how things are being dealt with. It is very serious.
