To be fair, and to pick up on the point that Mr. Walsh is making, it is not the case that the HSE is unattractive. We are the biggest employer of all of those therapists. Every single health and social care system in the world develops services on the basis of multidisciplinary teams. Consider a speech therapist graduating out of Trinity College next autumn. He or she will have a choice of multiple specialties to walk into. It happens to be the case that many graduates find the other specialties more attractive. Many find the disability service environment to be exceptionally pressured. When we talk about improvements we are referring to continuing medical education, better supervision and better possibilities for ways and models of working. The CDNT is the chosen model for now. When Mr. Walsh talks about making that more attractive, he is specifically referring to getting people who want to work with children with disabilities into those teams.
