To add to what Dr. Hartney said, the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission, in tandem with the review of the reasonable accommodation fund carried out by the Department of Social Protection, is developing a code of practice on reasonable accommodation in order that employers will know if they are in compliance with that code. It is also developing guidance for employers on reasonable accommodation and has asked us to have a look at the guidance when it is ready. They are positive developments. As Dr. Hartney said, we welcome the review by the Department of Social Protection. We hope it will be published soon in order that we can see what it is proposing for a new scheme fund. Submissions made by us and others focused on those areas relating to the long period for reimbursement and to the fact some of the provisions made were a little archaic and needed to be updated with respect to the modern assistive technology and so on that exists.
