In accordance with Standing Orders, as a quarter of an hour has passed since the time appointed for today’s meeting and there is no quorum present, the meeting of the committee stands adjourned. Deputy Canney is here, but unfortunately we do not have anybody else. I propose that we put this meeting to next week. We will reorganise the witnesses that we had proposed for next week at a later date. Is that okay with Deputy Canney?

Yes. We do not have a quorum.

No, and I do not envisage that we will meet it. There is a particular debate in the Dáil at the moment that I think is distracting people from their committee work. I apologise for the inconvenience and I am about to go out and apologise to our witnesses. I now adjourn this meeting until next Wednesday.

The select committee adjourned at 5.47 p.m. until 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 8 February 2023.
