Mr. David Moloney:

I think it is today that we are publishing the public service performance report which, among other things, shows some of the activity generated by the different Votes, including the Department of Health Vote. Obviously, we are concerned to secure value for money from the considerable investment that is being made in health services. We do monitor it on an ongoing basis. We spoke about the health budget oversight group previously. In doing that, we acknowledge, as the Chairman has done, the impact of Covid in recent times. We also acknowledge the impact of the increased population and so on. We certainly take every opportunity to try to drive better value for money in the health services but from our point of view, these are issues that are fundamentally a matter for the Department of Health and the HSE.
