I second the proposal.

As there is nobody else, the Opposition does not seem to have turned up against Deputy Devlin.

I congratulate Deputy Devlin.

If there is no other proposal, the question is that Deputy Cormac Devlin be elected Vice Chairman of the committee. Is that agreed? Agreed. I congratulate the newly elected Vice Chairman.

I thank my proposer and seconder. I also thank the committee for its support. In his absence, I commiserate with Senator Craughwell because it has probably been the longest running election in the history of the House but it has been fought in a good spirit. I thank Senator Craughwell for his time and contribution to date.

I wish you all the best and congratulate you on your election as Vice Chairman. I look forward to working with you. We have had a good relationship since the committee started and I hope both you, I and the other committee members can continue that.

I apologise as I could not get into the meeting for some reason. I had to leave and enter the meeting again. I congratulate Deputy Devlin, who has a bit more weight on his shoulders now. I am sure he is well able to carry it. Well done.

I congratulate Deputy Devlin and wish him well. I hope he continues to play a constructive and impartial role in the new position and that we can all get on, as we have done.

I echo those sentiments and thank Deputy Devlin for all his assistance to me as a new member of the committee.
