Is Mr. Keane happy enough that we can devise a scheme? I agree that when farmers retire, the sense of driving them off the land entirely and forcing them to have no part in the workings of the farm is crazy.

That is one reason the previous schemes did not have greater buy-in. The argument in favour of that type of approach is to ensure that this is more than just a paper exercise and the older farmer remains the boss on the farm but we do not see generational renewal. Is Mr. Keane happy that a scheme can be devised that mitigates against that risk but allows the input of an older farmer in terms of the knowledge built up over many years?
