There are infringement proceedings under way at present from the European Commission in relation to the transposition of the AVMSD, which the online safety and media regulation Bill will transpose. For that reason, and in order to address that issue, the Government is aware of the urgency of getting the legislation enacted as soon as possible. The Department has been working closely with the Future of Media Commission secretariat in relation to supporting the work of the commission. There have been close synergies there.
