The suggestion might be for the committee to ask the Department or the State Claims Agency for the compensation paid in respect of cases settled in a particular year and the associated legal costs for those cases. If the committee approaches the data request from that point of view and if they can provide it, that will go some way towards answering the kind of questions that Deputy Catherine Murphy is asking. I can talk to the clerk about how the request might be phrased in a follow-up letter with the Department.
