Joint Oireachtas Committee on Housing, Planning and Local Government
General Scheme of the Electoral Reform Bil 2020: Discussion (Resumed)
Mr. Darragh McShea:
I thank Senator Boyhan for the question. I do not believe we have applied for the marked register for the most recent election. We do not hold it. Centrally, in party headquarters, we hold very little data outside of the party's membership. We adhere to the very strict data protection requirements even pertaining to our membership and supporters. Online, we have our data protection notice. We do not hold databases centrally in the party. It is restricted to the members and supporters of our party. We hold the information on that basis.
In response to the Senator's second query on political advertising, I can confirm that we do not use our data to target advertisements by gender or anything of that nature either.
