Special Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General on the Nursing Homes Support Scheme: Discussion

10:15 am

Mr. Seamus McCarthy:

There is an option for the person who takes the loan to settle it at any time. They can move and opt to for that. It could be that when someone goes into a nursing home that they want the security that their home is still there for them, but two or three years on they might decide to go ahead with the sale. At that point they can settle the loan that is outstanding.
