Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health

Engagement with Patient Representatives on CervicalCheck and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Review Process

Ms Lorraine Walsh:

I will be ordering a taxi. We must believe what Dr. Scally has told us and he and his team have done extensive work on this. I specifically asked where my slide went, who read it and what happened to it. He said he tried extensively to get those answers but he could not. We must arrive at a particular stage when the people tasked with getting answers say they cannot get them. I am ready to try to move on with what is left of my life. I am not saying I am happy about what happened, as I am definitely not. We have seen all the reports that have been commissioned and we have their results. We can either accept what we have been told or we can spend the rest of our lives trying to get answers and perhaps still not getting them. I do not want to waste any more of my life. I have already wasted so much of it.
