Mr. John McKeon:

The Deputy can try to present the matter in whatever way he wishes but it is a simple, professional process of an exchange of correspondence. That is all it is. We sought an early meeting in our letter to the DPC on 22 August. The DPC replied that for its own reasons, it was not prepared to meet us until we had submitted the implementation plan, which was to be in October. We sought an early meeting but we did not get acceptance for an early meeting, which is the point we are making. We then had to consult with the Office of the Attorney General and others. We determined the appropriate response and, at that point, wrote to the Data Protection Commission advising it of our response and that we would still like to meet. There is nothing untoward or difficult about that. There is nothing contentious. It is simply a professional exchange of correspondence.
